Ayurveda was introduced by our country (the Great Bharat)

AYURVEDA, THE PLANT BASED MEDICAL TREATMENT PRACTICE HAS ITS ROOTS FROM HINDUISM             Most of the people staying in cities reside in flats or hired rooms. They find it difficult to plant the herbs. In such a situation, herbs, as given ahead, can be planted in earthen pots or plastic bags and kept in balconies. Their creepers can be left hanging on the bars of balcony or windows. In order to facilitate the drainage of excess water, it is essential to keep holes at the bottom of the earthen pot or plastic bag. The herbs should be kept at such a place where sunlight will be available for the most of the time. Wherever extra place is available surrounding the house, the herbs should be planted around the house instead of in the house. Everybody should plant most of the medicinal herbs given ahead in this rainy season at his house.  These plants are very useful in common ailments; therefore, one can grow as many plants as possible as indica...

Importance of HInduism in all over the world

PEOPLE FOLLOWING HINDUISM AROUND THE WORLD ARE APPRX 1 BILLION PEOPLE WHICH IS 14% OF THE WORLD’S POPULATION.  Hinduism ,the religion of nearly one billion people mostly of South Asian provenance or descent, is notoriously difficult to define or even to describe with accuracy and comprehensiveness. Like all complex and ancient religious traditions, it is problematic to speak about Hinduism as if it were one monolithic religion rather than merely a label for many different traditions. The conglomeration of religious traditions sheltered under this umbrella incorporates a bewildering array of texts, beliefs, practices, and sects — so disparate a collection that some modern scholars have questioned the legitimacy of artificially unifying them. According to these scholars, one cannot really speak about a single Hinduism but at best only a variety of Hinduisms. Defining Hinduism The word  Hinduism  itself derives from one of the principal rivers of South Asia, t...

This is The oldest Hindu Temple ,Which is not in India

HINDUISM IS THE WORLD’S OLDEST KNOWN RELIGION,  WITH IT’S ROOTS GOING BACK TO 10,000 YEARS AND HINDU LITERATURE DATING BACK TO 7000 BCE. Angkor Wat  ( Khmer :  អង្គរវត្ត  or "Capital Temple") is a temple complex in  Cambodia  and the largest religious monument in the world, [1]  on a site measuring 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 m 2 ; 402 acres). [2]  It was originally constructed as a  Hindu  temple of god  Vishnu  for the  Khmer Empire , gradually transforming into a  Buddhist  temple towards the end of the 12th century. [3]  It was built by the  Khmer  King  Suryavarman II [4]  in the early 12th century in  Yaśodharapura  ( Khmer :  យសោធរបុរៈ , present-day  Angkor ), the capital of the  Khmer Empire , as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Breaking from the  Shaiva  tradition of previous kings, Angkor Wat was instead dedicated...

Most interesting Facts about Lord Ganesha and Significance of Lord Ganesha in Hinduism

Most interesting  Facts about Lord Ganesha   Real Meaning of Shri Ganesha   As the rains start to wane, the earth covers herself in green, and brings forth her son, the one who will remove all obstacles as the seasons begin their march towards harvest time. That son is Ganesha, Gauri’s Ganesha, seated on her lap, corpulent, elephant-headed, cute and powerful. Ganesha is Gana-esha, foremost of Shiva’s Ganas. While the rest of the Ganas – creatures known as Yakshas and Pramathas and Bhutas – are fearsome and forbidding with their unusual misshapen forms, loved, included and understood only by Shiva, their ascetic-master, Ganesha has been able to delight us all – inspiring artists to create and recreate him in various shapes, each one joyful in mood and awe-inspiring in expanse. Birth of Lord Ganesha  Shiva does not understand. He shuts his eyes and withdraws. Not one to give up, the Goddess Parvati collects the rubbings of the turmeric paste ...

The Science behind Indian (Hindu) Calendars #12

The Science behind Indian (Hindu) Calendars The Moon revolves around the earth in about 27.32 days (sidereal month), i.e. if the moon is seen after this interval, it would be near the same star. On every other night one would find the moon near some other group of stars. In Indian system each such star (or group) is called Nakshatra (wives of moon, in all there are 27). Nakshatra (lunar mansion) should be distinguished from Rashis (Zodiacs), which are also groups of stars but are twelve in number and basically represent twelve months of the year (solar). Naksatras may be a part of the 12 zodiacs, or may be a constellation by themselves. The average time interval between two full moons (synodic or lunar month) is about 29.53 days (29 days, 12 hours, and 44 minutes). It is longer than sidereal month because the earth moving at a speed of about 1 degree per day (360 degrees in a year) around the sun would have moved about 30 degrees ahead during this period and moon with its sp...
